A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Sharetronix 3.1.1/3.1.1.3. Affected is the function preg_replace. The manipulation of the argument comments_text with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-94. Sharetronix 3.1.1.3, 3.1.1, and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via the (1) activities_text parameter to services/activities/set or (2) comments_text parameter to services/comments/set, which is not properly handled when executing the preg_replace function with the e modifier.
The weakness was presented 06/13/2014 by Egidio Romano (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-5352 since 08/21/2013. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
