android-tools 4.1.1 in Android Debug Bridge (ADB) allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on /tmp/adb.log.
The weakness was released 09/21/2012 by Christoph Biedl as 688280 as not defined changelog entry (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at bugs.debian.org. The public release was coordinated with Debian. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-5564 since 10/24/2012. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
