A vulnerability was found in bookx 1.7. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects an unknown function. The manipulation of the argument file with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in includes/bookx_export.php BookX plugin 1.7 for WordPress allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the file parameter.
