The Outlook Extension in IBM Content Collector 4.0.0.x before 4.0.0.0-ICC-OE-IF004 allows local users to bypass the intended Reviewer privilege requirement and read e-mail messages from an arbitrary mailbox by invoking the Search function.

The weakness was shared 08/11/2014 (Website). The advisory is shared at www-01.ibm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-4757 since 07/09/2014. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 4.0.0.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
