The weakness was disclosed 12/10/2012 with SecuriTeam Secure Disclosure as SYM12-019 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at symantec.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2012-4349 since 08/16/2012. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
