A vulnerability was found in EspoCRM 2.5.2. It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown code. The manipulation of the argument action with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in EspoCRM before 2.6.0 allows remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the action parameter to install/index.php.
The weakness was disclosed 10/31/2014 (Website). The advisory is available at blog.espocrm.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2014-7985 since 10/08/2014. The exploitability is told to be easy.
