The ipapwd_chpwop function in daemons/ipa-slapi-plugins/ipa-pwd-extop/ipa_pwd_extop.c in the directory server (dirsrv) in FreeIPA before 3.2.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a connection request without a username/dn, related to the 389 directory server.

The weakness was disclosed 11/03/2014 with Red Hat as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at git.fedorahosted.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-0336 since 12/06/2012. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
