Wibu-Systems CodeMeter Runtime before 5.20 uses weak permissions (read and write access for all users) for codemeter.exe, which allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse file.

The weakness was presented 11/26/2014 by Andrew with RISE Security as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2014-8419 since 10/22/2014. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack.
