Signed integer vulnerability in libnasl in Nessus before 2.0.6 allows local users with plugin upload privileges to cause a denial of service (core dump) and possibly execute arbitrary code by causing a negative argument to be provided to the insstr function as used in a NASL script.
The weakness was presented 05/22/2003 by Sir Mordred and Renaud Deraison (Nessus.org) with Nessus.org as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2003-0372 since 06/04/2003. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
