A vulnerability was found in Sp Project and Document Manager up to 2.4.1 (Project Management Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function remove_cat. The manipulation of the argument id with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in classes/ajax.php in the Smarty Pants Plugins SP Project & Document Manager plugin (sp-client-document-manager) 2.4.1 and earlier for WordPress allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) vendor_email[] parameter in the email_vendor function or id parameter in the (2) download_project, (3) download_archive, or (4) remove_cat function.
The weakness was published 12/02/2014 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-9178 since 12/02/2014. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
