A vulnerability was found in Zoho ManageEngine Desktop Central (Endpoint Management Software). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown functionality of the component Password Manager. The manipulation of the argument sv with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in the LinkViewFetchServlet servlet in ManageEngine Desktop Central (DC) and Desktop Central Managed Service Providers (MSP) edition before 9 build 90043, Password Manager Pro (PMP) and Password Manager Pro Managed Service Providers (MSP) edition before 7 build 7003, IT360 and IT360 Managed Service Providers (MSP) edition before 10.3.3 build 10330, and possibly other ManageEngine products, allows remote attackers or remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the sv parameter to LinkViewFetchServlet.dat.

This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-3996 since 06/06/2014. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Upgrading to version 9.0 eliminates this vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 16726.
