IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager Mobile Device Management (MDM) before 9.0.60100 uses the same secret HMAC token across different customers installations, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted marshalled Ruby objects in cookies to (1) Enrollment and Apple iOS Management Extender, (2) Self-service portal, (3) Trusted Services provider, or (4) Admin Portal.

The weakness was released 12/06/2014 by RedTeam Pentesting with RedTeam Pentesting GmbH (Website). The advisory is available at redteam-pentesting.de. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-6140 since 09/02/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1600 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

A public exploit has been developed in Ruby. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept.
