Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Mozilla Bugzilla up to 4.2.9 (Bug Tracking Software). Affected is an unknown code. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Bugzilla before 4.0.16, 4.1.x and 4.2.x before 4.2.12, 4.3.x and 4.4.x before 4.4.7, and 5.x before 5.0rc1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands by leveraging the editcomponents privilege and triggering crafted input to a two-argument Perl open call, as demonstrated by shell metacharacters in a product name.
