IBM Security AppScan Standard 8.x and 9.x before 9.0.1.1 FP1 does not properly verify X.509 certificates from SSL servers, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof servers and obtain sensitive information via a crafted certificate.
The weakness was published 02/01/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2014-8918 since 11/14/2014. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
