A vulnerability was found in MyBB up to 1.8.3 (Content Management System). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the component HTML File Handler. Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in the Admin Control Panel (ACP) login in MyBB (aka MyBulletinBoard) before 1.8.4 allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of unspecified victims via unknown vectors.
The weakness was released 02/15/2015 as MyBB 1.8.4 Released – Feature Update, Security & Maintenance Release as confirmed release notes (Blog). The advisory is available at blog.mybb.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-2334 since 03/18/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
