A vulnerability was found in Cybernetikz Easy Social Icons up to 1.2.1 and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code of the file wp-admin/admin.php of the component Authentication. Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in the Easy Social Icons plugin before 1.2.3 for WordPress allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of administrators for requests that conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via the image_file parameter in an edit action in the cnss_social_icon_add page to wp-admin/admin.php.
The weakness was shared 02/25/2015 by Eric Flokstra (Website). The advisory is shared at wordpress.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-2084 since 02/25/2015. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Upgrading to version 1.2.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
