The private-browsing implementation in WebKit in Apple Safari before 6.2.5, 7.x before 7.1.5, and 8.x before 8.0.5 places browsing history into an index, which might allow local users to obtain sensitive information by reading index entries.
The weakness was disclosed 04/08/2015 as HT204658 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2015-1127 since 01/16/2015. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
