A vulnerability has been found in Oracle Outside In Technology 8.4.1/8.5.0/8.5.1 (Programming Tool Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown function of the component Outside In Filters. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect availability.
The weakness was presented 04/14/2015 with Oracle as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - April 2015 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at oracle.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-0474 since 12/17/2014. An attack has to be approached locally. The successful exploitation requires a single authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
