A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Cisco Web Security Appliance 8.5.0-ise-147 (Anti-Malware Software). Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) devices with software 8.5.0-ise-147 do not properly restrict use of the pickle Python module during certain tunnel-status checks, which allows local users to execute arbitrary Python code and gain privileges via a crafted pickle file, aka Bug ID CSCut39259.
The weakness was disclosed 04/15/2015 as 38306 as confirmed vulnerability alert (Website). The advisory is shared for download at tools.cisco.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-0693 since 01/07/2015. The attack needs to be approached locally. A simple authentication is required for exploitation.
