A vulnerability has been found in Simple Ads Manager Plugin up to 2.5.95 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin) and classified as critical. Unrestricted file upload vulnerability in sam-ajax-admin.php in the Simple Ads Manager plugin before 2.5.96 for WordPress allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by uploading a file with an executable extension, then accessing it via a direct request to the file in the directory specified by the path parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 04/21/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared at wordpress.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-2825 since 04/01/2015. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1608.002 for this issue.

By approaching the search of inurl:sam-ajax-admin.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 10093 (Wordpress Simple Ads Manager Arbitrary File Upload Vulnerability).
Upgrading to version 2.5.96 eliminates this vulnerability.
