Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) Manager before 3.5.1 uses weak permissions on the directories shared by the ovirt-engine-dwhd service and a plugin during service startup, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information by reading files in the directory.

The weakness was disclosed 05/01/2015 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at rhn.redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-0257 since 11/18/2014. Attacking locally is a requirement. The successful exploitation needs a simple authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1068 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
