A vulnerability was found in Libtasn1 up to 4.4. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function _asn1_extract_der_octet. The _asn1_extract_der_octet function in lib/decoding.c in GNU Libtasn1 before 4.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds heap read) via a crafted certificate.
The weakness was shared 05/05/2015 (Website). The advisory is available at blog.fuzzing-project.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-3622 since 04/30/2015. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
