Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component Configuration Handler. OpenStack Identity (Keystone) before 2014.1.5 and 2014.2.x before 2014.2.4 logs the backend_argument configuration option content, which allows remote authenticated users to obtain passwords and other sensitive backend information by reading the Keystone logs.

The weakness was disclosed 05/12/2015 (Website). The advisory is available at bugs.launchpad.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-3646 since 05/04/2015. The attack may be launched remotely. Required for exploitation is a simple authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 123589 (Solaris 11.2 Support Repository Update (SRU) 11.5.0 Missing).

Upgrading to version 2014.1.5 or 2014.2.4 eliminates this vulnerability.
