The Inter-process Communication (IPC) implementation in Google Chrome before 18.0.1025.168, as used in Mozilla Firefox before 38.0 and other products, does not properly validate messages, which has unspecified impact and attack vectors.

The weakness was shared 05/12/2015 by Jed Davis and Christoph Diehl (PinkiePie) as MFSA 2015-57 as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is available at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2011-3079 since 08/09/2011. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
