This issue affects some unknown processing of the file libraries/Config.class.php of the component GitHub API Call. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cryptographic issue vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-310. Impacted is integrity.

The weakness was disclosed 05/14/2015 by Maksymilian Arciemowicz as PMASA-2015-3 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at phpmyadmin.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-3903 since 05/12/2015. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1600 for this issue.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 83827 (Fedora 22 : phpMyAdmin-4.4.6.1-1.fc22 (2015-8190)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Fedora Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 10078 (phpMyAdmin Multiple Security Vulnerabilities (PMASA-2015-1 - PMASA-2015-2)).

Upgrading to version 4.0.10.10, 4.2.13.3, 4.3.13.1 or 4.4.6.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
