Thermostat before 2.0.0 uses world-readable permissions for the web.xml configuration file, which allows local users to obtain user credentials by reading the file.

The weakness was presented 06/08/2015 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at rhn.redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-3201 since 04/10/2015. Attacking locally is a requirement. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
