A vulnerability was found in Adobe Photoshop CC up to 2014 (15.2.2) (2014.2.2) (Image Processing Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing. Heap-based buffer overflow in Adobe Photoshop CC before 16.0 (aka 2015.0.0) and Adobe Bridge CC before 6.11 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was disclosed 06/16/2015 by Francis Provencher with Protek Research Labs as APSB15-12 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at helpx.adobe.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3111 since 04/09/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 84403 (Adobe Photoshop CC Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB15-12)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
