A vulnerability was found in Avigilon Control Center up to 4.12.0.53/5.4.2.21 and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the file help/. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in Avigilon Control Center (ACC) 4 before 4.12.0.54 and 5 before 5.4.2.22 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a crafted help/ URL.
The weakness was disclosed 06/23/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared at kb.cert.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-2860 since 04/03/2015. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 4.12.0.54 or 5.4.2.22 eliminates this vulnerability.
