WebKit in Apple Safari before 6.2.7, 7.x before 7.1.7, and 8.x before 8.0.7, as used in Apple iOS before 8.4 and other products, does not properly restrict rename operations on WebSQL tables, which allows remote attackers to access an arbitrary web site's database via a crafted web site.
The weakness was released 07/03/2015 by Peter Rutenbar with Zero Day Initiative (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2015-3727 since 05/07/2015. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
