The decode_slice_header function in libavcodec/h264.c in FFmpeg before 1.1.2 does not properly check when the pixel format changes, which allows remote attackers to have unspecified impact via crafted H.264 video data, related to an out-of-bounds array access.

The weakness was presented 02/06/2013 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind (j00ru) with Google Security Team as 52093 as confirmed advisory (Secunia). The advisory is shared for download at secunia.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-0867 since 01/07/2013. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
