A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Windows NT 4.0/2000 (Operating System). It has been declared as critical. The POSIX component of Microsoft Windows NT and Windows 2000 allows local users to execute arbitrary code via certain parameters, possibly by modifying message length values and causing a buffer overflow.
The bug was discovered 07/13/2004. The weakness was presented 07/13/2004 by Rafal Wojtczuk with McAfee as MS04-020 as confirmed bulletin (Technet).
