A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in HAProxy up to 1.5.13 (Firewall Software). This vulnerability affects the function buffer_slow_realign. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The buffer_slow_realign function in HAProxy 1.5.x before 1.5.14 and 1.6-dev does not properly realign a buffer that is used for pending outgoing data, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information (uninitialized memory contents of previous requests) via a crafted request.

The weakness was disclosed 07/06/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at haproxy.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3281 since 04/10/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
