A vulnerability has been found in IBM DB2 9.8/10.1/10.5 (Database Software) and classified as very critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Authentication. The manipulation as part of a Network Request leads to a improper authentication vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-287. IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS) 3.4 before 3.4.0.32, 3.5 before 3.5.0.24, and 4.1 before 4.1.0.7 in certain cipherList configurations allows remote attackers to bypass authentication and execute arbitrary programs as root via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was disclosed 07/14/2015 by Florian Grunow and Felix Wilhelm with ERNW as swg21902662 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at www-304.ibm.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-0198 since 11/18/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx.
