The advisory is shared at wordpress.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-5623 since 07/23/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. A single authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 85352 (Debian DSA-3328-1 : wordpress - security update), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
