Adobe Flash Player before 10.3.183.63 and 11.x before 11.6.602.168 on Windows, before 10.3.183.61 and 11.x before 11.6.602.167 on Mac OS X, before 10.3.183.61 and 11.x before 11.2.202.270 on Linux, before 11.1.111.43 on Android 2.x and 3.x, and before 11.1.115.47 on Android 4.x; Adobe AIR before 3.6.0.597; and Adobe AIR SDK before 3.6.0.599 allow attackers to obtain sensitive information via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was released 02/12/2013 by Gynvael Coldwind with Google Security Team as APSB13-05 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at adobe.com. The public release was coordinated with Adobe. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-0637 since 12/18/2012. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 74890 (openSUSE Security Update : flash-player (openSUSE-SU-2013:0295-2)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family SuSE Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 166683 (SUSE Enterprise Linux Security Update for flash-player (SUSE-SU-2013:0296-1)).
Upgrading to version 11.2.202.270, 11.6.602.167 or 11.6.602.168 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at adobe.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
