The processControlCommand function in broker/TransportConnection.java in Apache ActiveMQ before 5.11.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (shutdown) via a shutdown command.
The weakness was disclosed 08/14/2015 (GitHub Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-3576 since 05/14/2014. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. Upgrading to version 5.11.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
