A vulnerability was found in Serendipity up to 2.0.1 (Content Management System). It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function serendipity_isActiveFile of the file include/functions_images.inc.php of the component Blacklist Filter. The manipulation as part of a PHT/PHTML File leads to a privileges management vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-269. Multiple incomplete blacklist vulnerabilities in the serendipity_isActiveFile function in include/functions_images.inc.php in Serendipity before 2.0.2 allow remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a file with a (1) .pht or (2) .phtml extension.
The weakness was released 09/16/2015 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at seclists.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-6968 since 09/16/2015.
