A vulnerability was found in rpcbind (unknown version). It has been classified as problematic. This affects the function PMAP_CALLIT of the component Daemon. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-416. Use-after-free vulnerability in xprt_set_caller in rpcb_svc_com.c in rpcbind 0.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via crafted packets, involving a PMAP_CALLIT code.
The weakness was presented 09/18/2015 as Bug 1264345 as confirmed bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2015-7236 since 09/17/2015. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
