A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Font Plugin up to 7.5.0 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin). Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the file Font.php. The manipulation of the argument url with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Absolute path traversal vulnerability in Font.php in the Font plugin before 7.5.1 for WordPress allows remote administrators to read arbitrary files via a full pathname in the url parameter to AjaxProxy.php.
The weakness was published 10/16/2015 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at wordpress.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-7683 since 10/02/2015. The attack can be launched remotely. A single authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. Upgrading to version 7.5.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
