The chunked upload API (ApiUpload) in MediaWiki before 1.23.11, 1.24.x before 1.24.4, and 1.25.x before 1.25.3 allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (disk consumption) via a file upload using one byte chunks.
The weakness was presented 10/29/2015 by Richard Stanway, RobinHood70, Sitic and Grunny (Website). The advisory is available at lists.wikimedia.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2015-8002 since 10/28/2015. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. A authentication is needed for exploitation.
