A vulnerability was found in IBM System Networking Switch Center up to 7.3.1.4 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file FileReader.jsp. Race condition in the administration-panel web service in IBM System Networking Switch Center (SNSC) before 7.3.1.5 and Lenovo Switch Center before 8.1.2.0 allows remote attackers to obtain privileged-account access, and consequently provide FileReader.jsp input containing directory traversal sequences to read arbitrary text files, via a request to port 40080 or 40443.
The weakness was released 11/12/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.lenovo.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-7817 since 10/14/2015. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
