Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 through 11 and Microsoft Edge allow remote attackers to bypass the ASLR protection mechanism via a crafted web site, aka "Microsoft Browser ASLR Bypass."
The weakness was disclosed 12/08/2015 as MS15-124 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-6161 since 08/14/2015. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 87253 (MS15-124: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (3116180)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 91138 (Microsoft Edge Cumulative Security Update (MS15-125)).
