A vulnerability was found in Seagate Storage up to 3.4.1 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the component Download Request Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Absolute path traversal vulnerability on Seagate GoFlex Satellite, Seagate Wireless Mobile Storage, Seagate Wireless Plus Mobile Storage, and LaCie FUEL devices with firmware before 3.4.1.105 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a full pathname in a download request during a Wi-Fi session.
