Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the OCS discovery provider component in ownCloud Server before 7.0.12, 8.0.x before 8.0.10, 8.1.x before 8.1.5, and 8.2.x before 8.2.2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via unspecified vectors involving a URL.
The weakness was disclosed 01/08/2016 by Lukas Reschke (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at owncloud.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-1498 since 01/05/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
