A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in nginx 0.6.18/1.9.9 (Web Server). This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component DNS UDP Packet Handler. The resolver in nginx before 1.8.1 and 1.9.x before 1.9.10 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (invalid pointer dereference and worker process crash) via a crafted UDP DNS response.
The weakness was presented 01/29/2016 (Website). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-0742 since 12/16/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy.
