A vulnerability was found in Novell ZENworks Control Center up to 11.2. It has been declared as critical. The web server in Novell ZENworks Configuration Management (ZCM) 10.3 and 11.2 before 11.2.4 does not properly perform authentication for zenworks/jsp/index.jsp, which allows remote attackers to conduct directory traversal attacks, and consequently upload and execute arbitrary programs, via a request to TCP port 443.
The weakness was shared 03/22/2013 by James Burton with Insomnia Security as 7011812 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at novell.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-1080 since 01/11/2013. The attack can be launched remotely.
