A vulnerability was found in phpMyAdmin up to 4.0.10.12/4.4.15.2/4.5.3 (Database Administration Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects some unknown functionality in the library libraries/phpseclib/Crypt/AES.php of the component Error Message Handler. phpMyAdmin 4.4.x before 4.4.15.3 and 4.5.x before 4.5.4 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a crafted request to (1) libraries/phpseclib/Crypt/AES.php or (2) libraries/phpseclib/Crypt/Rijndael.php, which reveals the full path in an error message.

The weakness was released 02/20/2016 by Emanuel Bronshtein (Website). The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-2042 since 01/21/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
