Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Wireshark 2.0.0/2.0.1 (Packet Analyzer Software). This issue affects some unknown processing of the file epan/dissectors/packet-hiqnet.c of the component HiQnet Dissector. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does
not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the
properties that are required to process the data safely and
correctly. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:
epan/dissectors/packet-hiqnet.c in the HiQnet dissector in Wireshark 2.0.x before 2.0.2 does not validate the data type, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and application crash) via a crafted packet.
