Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability on HP ProCurve 1700-8 (aka J9079A) switches with software before VA.02.09 and 1700-24 (aka J9080A) switches with software before VB.02.09 allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of unspecified victims via unknown vectors.
The weakness was disclosed 03/25/2013 with JPCERT/CC as HPSBPV02855 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at nist.gov. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with HP. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-5216 since 10/01/2012. The attack may be initiated remotely.
