The weakness was disclosed 03/08/2016 with Baidu as MS16-024 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at technet.microsoft.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-0110 since 12/03/2015. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 89746 (MS16-023: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (3142015)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 91183 (Microsoft Edge Cumulative Security Update (MS16-024)).
Applying the patch MS16-024 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at technet.microsoft.com.
